FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Check-In: Pick up your wristband (required for garden entry), your souvenir glass, and a program at the Registration Table. If you pre-purchased Champagne Tea, pick up your tea ticket at Check-In. All reservations will be listed under the name of the purchaser.
Timing: The tour takes approximately 2–3 hours, not including Champagne Tea. The last trolley departs OAC at 2:30 PM, and the gardens close promptly at 4:00 PM.
Walkable: The tour route is an easy, pleasant walk—about two miles roundtrip on mostly flat terrain—from the Outdoor Art Club through downtown Mill Valley to the gardens and back. If you arrive when registration opens, we encourage you to begin your tour on foot rather than wait for the trolley. Please wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes.
Trolleys: For those who wish to enjoy the charm of a trolley ride, hop aboard and travel in style to the gardens. Trolleys run continuously from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The first trolley departs the OAC at 9:00 AM, and the last trolley to the gardens departs at 2:30 PM. The final trolley returning from the gardens leaves at 4:00 PM.
Weather: The tour will take place rain or shine, so please come prepared with an umbrella or rain jacket in case of inclement weather.
Accessibility: These are private gardens accessible only via trolley, bike, or on foot. Ticket holders must be able to walk confidently, bike, or climb onto the trolley independently. Unfortunately, the event is not wheelchair or walker accessible, and the trolleys cannot accommodate these devices.
Children: The tour is designed for adults only. Homes and gardens are not stroller accessible or child-safe, and trolleys do not have car seats.
Pets: Pets are not permitted.
Champagne Tea: If you purchased Champagne Tea tickets, your reservation is for one hour—either from Noon to 1:00 PM or from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Please be prompt. If you check in with friends at the Hostess Desk, you will be seated together.Note: If you purchased 10:00 AM Tea tickets, your reservation has been moved to Noon.
Parking: Parking is available throughout downtown Mill Valley. We provide a parking permit that allows two extra free hours at metered spaces.
Download and print your parking permit here. Place the permit visibly on your dashboard. Please observe any restrictions noted on the permit.
Bikes: Cyclists must sign a release form and wear helmets to receive a route map. Bicycle locks are strongly recommended. Bike parking is available at the Outdoor Art Club (Wedding Garden entrance at the back gate) and near the tour gardens. No bike racks are available on the trolleys. The Outdoor Art Club is not responsible for bicycle security.
