Planting the Future – Seeds Campaign 2025-2026

Price range: $100.00 through $1,000.00

For more than a century, the Outdoor Art Club has been a place where people gather to celebrate and support the civic and cultural life of Mill Valley. After the most significant period of clubhouse renewal in our history, we will reopen this spring with a revitalized historic building.

The Planting the Future Campaign helps us complete this chapter responsibly, strengthening the financial footing to support our public events and community grants program. Our goal is $100,000, to offset lost rental income during the closure.

Your tax-deductible gift at any level helps secure that future.

Planting the Future

Thank you for joining us at the Outdoor Art Club’s 2025 Garden Tour or another of our public events, where you may have noticed that the Club has been busy in the best possible way—taking care of our historic clubhouse to prepare for the future. We’ve rolled up our sleeves to take on a once-in-a-century effort to update, renovate, and preserve the building.

We’re writing today to ask for your support through our Planting the Future fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $100,000, and we hope you’ll consider being part of it.

Over the past three years, we completed earthquake retrofitting. We replaced the roof. We restored the clubhouse’s original French doors. We are in the process this spring of renovating our commercial kitchen—last remodeled when Dwight Eisenhower was president—to meet current county health requirements. The work was essential to bring a 122-year-old clubhouse up to modern standards, while ensuring that generations to come can continue to enjoy its soaring beamed ceilings and carved trusses.

To do it properly, we accepted eight months without rental income while work was underway. That decision is allowing us to finish the job without shortcuts to ensure the club’s future.

And as this work moves towards completion this spring, we are asking you to say yes to this important moment. Your tax-deductible donation, at any level, helps us reach the $100,000 goal—your generous support sustains our historic building and gardens and strengthens the Club’s role in supporting local nonprofit organizations.

Thank you for being part of our community—and for helping to ensure that the Outdoor Art Club remains a downtown Mill Valley landmark we can enjoy and rely on for generations to come.

Sincerely,
Michelle Slatalla
